About
Clara Leitão (Lisbon, 1995) studied Costume & Set Design at António Arroio in her hometown, Lisbon, and graduated with a first class BA (Hons) degree in Design for Textiles (specializing in Print) from the School of Textiles & Design, in Scotland. As part of her studies, she completed a semester abroad at the National Institute of Design, in Ahmedabad, India.
She works with a variety of materials and techniques, from painting on paper to screenprinting (both on paper & fabric) and embroidery. Aside from her studio practice she enjoys learning new crafts and all things textiles related.
Clara enjoys exploring the realms of dream and the subconscious, and is often inspired by fairytales and personal memories. Her practice is a means for self-discovery and accessing hidden worlds.
She currently lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal.
