Clara Leitão (Lisbon, 1995) studied Costume & Set Design at António Arroio in her hometown, Lisbon, and graduated with a first class BA (Hons) degree in Design for Textiles (specializing in Print) from the School of Textiles & Design, in Scotland. As part of her studies, she completed a semester abroad at the National Institute of Design, in Ahmedabad, India.
Clara has worked with a variety of materials and techniques, from painting to screenprinting (both on paper & fabric) and embroidery. She currently focuses on her painting practice, developing intricate guache works on paper.
Clara is deeply interested in the realm of dreams and the subconscious, which she often accesses through intuition, fairytales and personal memories. Hers is a practice of inner discovery, a point of access to the imaginary and unseen.
She currently lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal.
