Rhizom 8 (2019)

An exhibition of textile and paper works developed during a 3-month residency at Kunstkollektivet 8B, in Denmark. During that period Clara took reference from local folklore, particularly myths, interweaving them with everyday aspects of her own experience. She learned about an ancient people who lived in a forest nearby, a stone-throwing giant and a golden chain buried underground. 

The fabrics used by Clara in this project belonged to her grandmother and in Denmark they received a new life through being dyed with seaweed, berries and synthetic pigments, as well as being embroidered and mixed with other materials such as papier-mâché, paper and wood.
